Belle View Elementary School was a phased renovation to a school that has been a home to students since the 1950s. Added onto and renovated several times, the project has unique nuances due in part to the multiple floor levels as well as the tight site constraints. Nestled in an established community, the school features multiple outdoor nature stations set up for learning. The additions are located as to not conflict with those existing stations. The program adds about 19,000 sf to the 76,000 sf school and includes an administration area, library, and arts classrooms. The renovations align the interior of the school closer to the program requirements for new elementary schools in Fairfax County.
