Mellow Mushroom Holly Springs reinterprets the brand’s 1970s roots with a more timeless and widely appealing design approach. Built on a study of color, geometry, and brand evolution, the space introduces a refreshed identity that balances nostalgic elements with a modern look and feel. Influences range from mid-century modern and sixties counterculture to eighties pop and contemporary design, creating an environment that feels familiar but still new. Rather than focusing on a location-specific story, the design shifts toward a more universal concept that can work across future franchise locations. Materials such as terrazzo-inspired flooring, wood paneling, mirrored ceiling elements, and bold color accents help create a vibrant and approachable atmosphere. Details like disco balls and lava lamps add energy and subtle nostalgia without overwhelming the space. Through close collaboration with the client and brand, the project represents a successful real-time reinvention of a beloved brand.
