Friday, February 25, 2022

Construction continues on the student-built home for the Building Construction programs at the Academies of Loudoun. The 2,100 sf, two-story home features sustainable design features such as ample day lighting, passive convective ventilation, rainwater harvesting, durable materials and will be solar panel ready. It’s designed to be easily constructed by the students with a simple and accommodating floor plan, straightforward building massing, and uncomplicated roof lines. Designed by Senior Project Manager Brad Pierce, a board member of the Loudoun Career and Technical Education Foundation, the house will enable students to learn through a hands-on, real world experience.
