Architecture, Inc. has been selected to lead the architectural design for the redevelopment of the East Potomac Tennis Center, a historic 8.5-acre racquet sports facility located in East Potomac Park in Washington, D.C. The $10M project, spearheaded by East Potomac Racquet Sports Partners LLC under a 45-year lease with the National Park Service, will reimagine the aging venue with modern upgrades to serve the evolving needs of the D.C. racquet sports community.
The phased renovation will improve 24 existing tennis courts, 19 outdoor and 5 indoor, while adding new pickleball courts and other amenities. Architecture, Inc. will also redesign key support facilities including restrooms, lobbies, and the pro shop welcome center. Programming enhancements, community partnerships, and accessibility improvements are also central to the project’s vision. The redesigned East Potomac Tennis Center is anticipated to begin phased reopening in 2026.
