Coolidge Senior High School

Washington, DC
This design-build project involves the complete modernization of Coolidge Senior High School for DC Public Schools, comprising 44,200 sf of additions and 350,000 sf of interior renovations. The scope includes enclosing two open courtyards for new atrium common spaces, highlighted by a sawtooth skylight. The project also includes the creation of a new middle school with its own entrance addition which features a green roof. The project is designed for LEED Gold. The high school will accommodate approximately 675 students and the middle school will accommodate approximately 550 students. The two schools will share some program space such as the auditorium, clinic, and library, but will otherwise be operated separately. The new daycare and parent center will have a separate entrance on the east side. Existing athletic fields, stadiums and school grounds will all be improved.
